So you may ask. Who are You? This is our answer.

“paper planes” was born out of a love of life and the opportunities to capture it. we are Jim and Gina Towson and we live in the fabulous town of Athens, Georgia. We live in a tiny house that is as old as both our ages combined plus a quarter century. We have been married since 2009 and enjoy life together. we are constantly learning about ourselves and each other and that is the most fun thing about marriage. we are in love with Jesus and we are so happy that He loves us too.

we enjoy meeting new people and that is one of our favorite parts of photography. getting to know new couples and taking pictures that reflect all we have learned is why we are in the business. our goal is to produce photos that illustrate the joy, personality and excitement of every celebration we take part in.

so you know we want to know you but in case you have questions about us here are some important facts.
we make and reuse everything we can.
we think having fun is extremely important and we make that a priority always.
we love games. any form, any time.
we love food, cooking, nutrition and our favorite date is to the farmers market.
we have an awesome dog and his name is cooper. he looks like a tiger.
we think that coffee is a gift from God.
we go to thrift stores every week.
we cannot decide if oreos are better eaten with peanut butter or dipped in milk, so we do both.
we collect old clocks and make new ones.
traveling is one of our favorite things to do.
we juice our own fruits and vegetables and it is amazing.
our idea of a perfect weekend involves a messy house and movie marathons.
we try and like hot tea but can’t.
we have a shoe addiction and combined own over 75 pairs of shoes.

we are very laid back and live life with the intention to go where the wind takes us, hence the name paper planes.

  1. justin and i just looked at all of your amazing photos!!! Your ability to capture action and those very precise moments of expression is so impressive! Justin also brought up how in tune you are to saturation of color and that you know just how to make it look "real." I like how you somehow manage to make it look old-fashioned and you make everyone look like they belong in an Anthropologie world! We love your talent!!! Can't wait for more!
